Credit Card Debt

Grandpa was a conductor on one of the first steam engines in existence. He was but a lad when he started out, still in constant awe of the world and always ready to see and do something new. That was the original appeal of that career, that and the majesty of the locomotive that would take its maiden voyage with him in the driver's seat. The name of that freight train, he will never forget, was Credit Card Debt, and no matter how hard he tried he could never de-rail the SOB, never could quite eliminate credit card debt before it sped over the edge.

To the ends of the Earth

That is where grandpa wanted to go and he was confident that trusty Credit Card Debt would get him there, and back. What he didn't know at the time was that Credit Card Debt had some ideas of its own, but it was holding out on its conductor for fear that he would pull the plug. And so, grandpa plugged away at this credit card debt consolidation career he was building for himself and glad for the anonymity that each port of call afforded. He had been so sick of and stymied by the small town that he had grown up in and he liked the feeling of not knowing the inhabitants of each hamlet they passed and having no responsibility for them. He was a man of the world, flying high on the hopes and dreams of youth and building manly confidence with the sheer force of credit card debts behind him. But, alas, and as you have probably guessed, that euphoric state did not last much longer, but popped like a bubble.

Grandpa had been taking credit card debt for granted, thinking that he could stop and maintain the train anytime and that, because she was new, she would not need a good going over for some time to come. He didn't realize that credit card debt, once it goes too far, can be very difficult and expensive to fix. Boy, were his bosses angry! They screamed at him and asked if he had ever seen credit before in his life. He could not stop the flow of tears, he cried for himself, for the company that had counted on him, but mostly for credit card debt .
