Credit

Credit, yelled the newspaper boy, Get your credit here!

Credit

One thing that most of those who were waiting inline needed was some credit. Who knew that they wouldn't take cash? Who doesn't tale cash? This was a rhetorical question uttered from the mouth of many. Unfortunately there were going to be some pretty unhappy people by the time their turn came, because too many of them had never taken credit or credit cards very seriously and now, the trip that they had waited their whole lives to take, would have to be put on hold until they made some headway with their credit. They are just going to have to hear about it from their friends and try their best to improve their bad credit before the next train left the station.

You cannot change the rules

There is a sign, right next to each and every ticket agent's window and it states, as plain as the day, that if you do not have a credit card then you will not be able to board the train. All of those with wads of cash in their pockets piped up that they still had enough for the fare and that they should be let one. But, rules are rules and the ticket agents do not make them, they simply carry them out. They too would get into an awful loot of trouble is their boss found out that they were letting people on the train without proper credit credentials., and this job was too sweet to take chance on that.

To their benefit, though, all of the potential passengers who had not had sufficient credit were each assigned a credit counselor at the behest of the company itself. On account of this simple act of kindness and an apparent commitment to credit repair the company gained some pretty loyal customers that day and by the time that the next train pulled in, they were all ready, and qualified, to come aboard.
